Yar Kravtsov
Senior Software Engineer
Lokalise
I’ve been writing software for over 27 years. Most of that time was spent on backends — Go these days, plenty of other things before that. I build CLI tools, deployment pipelines, and occasionally things nobody asked for, like a programming language with its own compiler and garbage collector.
I work at Lokalise as a Senior Software Engineer. Before that, a long trail of backend systems, infrastructure work, and the kind of debugging stories that make good blog posts.
I have a Master’s degree in Physics. It has never once been relevant to my job, but it taught me to distrust hand-waving explanations, which turns out to be the most useful skill in software engineering.
This blog is where I write about the things I build and the things I learn building them. Opinionated, specific, and hopefully useful.
